Blogging for Nigeria!

Women in Nigeria who continue to suffer in their lives owing to the economic situation in the country. The aim is to reach out to the women in those communities that also generally lack initiatives and opportunities for individuals to elevate themselves and bring themselves out of the plight they find themselves in, along with other related situations, like poverty. In the course of its functioning, Delta Women has also come to learn that there are some people who are disadvantaged in the communities on account of physical illnesses and are therefore unable to help themselves.

As is the case for women globally, the same challenges present themselves to the women of Nigeria. Additionally, though, the issues that plague these women are the cumbersome consequences of parochial tribal practices that impute witchcraft, terribly wrongful offences of female genital mutilation, rape and unsafe abortions, and the astute lack of care for women- be it on the health front, or on the domestic front, on the governmental front, and on the societal front.

Since that discovery, Delta Women has made sure to identify and help such people in every possible way, and to empower them as much as possible.

  2. One step at a time. Nothing great starts easy. The women of Delta State have found a voice, a voice of integrity and a voice that will echo their cry for help into the ears that matters.
