Emirati women breaking barriers, says paper

WAM ABU DHABI, 29 May, 2013: When aspiring young minds, looking to break barriers, persuade those who have already done so to share their experiences, it reveals a synergy that works as a driving force for progress, commented a local daily.

Seven female students of a leading college in Dubai harnessed the combined motivational force of Emirati women achievers for the student faculty as examples of how tradition and culture can be highly compatible with career ambition.

To insist that the former negate the latter's relevance is a contrivance at its best. In the UAE's march towards greater achievements, female Emiratis are playing a starring role as they take up professions that were at one time considered beyond their safe zone pushing for excellence and at the same time upholding the values and beliefs of their cultural and national identity, Gulf News said in its today's editorial.

Each success story works as a validation for tradition's constructive influence and ambition's edifying reach. These women are paving the way for the younger generation to take UAE to greater glory, even as they reinforce the truism that a successful and dynamic society needs both genders to play important roles in its evolution.
