WHEN Mrs. Enadeba Osarumwense, 17, delivered a set of twins last
Sunday, it was celebration galore, but that joyous moment did not last
six days as her husband allegedly clubbed her to death for delaying to
breastfeed the babies. SUNDAY OBSERVER gathered that the tragedy
occurred after an argument over when the woman should breastfeed the
babies ensued between her and her husband.
Sources revealed that the nursing mother had told her husband that she wanted to quickly urinate before returning to breastfeed the babies who were crying, but her husband objected demanding that she should attend to them instead.
It was further gathered that the nursing mother who was apparently over pressed went to urinate as her hubby Mr. Endurance Enadeba accosted her in the bathroom.
The crisis, said to have ensued in the bathroom, prompted the man to hit her head with an object.
Witnesses said the tragedy came as the couple were making arrangement for the christening of their babies.
Father of the victim who identified himself as Pa Eghenayayore who wept bitterly said his daughter died before she was taken to hospital.
He added that his son-in-law fled as soon as the incident occurred .
“He killed my daughter because of breastfeeding the twins, the twins are at home now, who will give them breast milk? Mr. Eghenayayore asked rhetorically.
The spokesman for Edo Police Command DSP Moses Eguavoen said the man alleged to have killed his wife, a nursing mother during domestic dispute has been taken into protective custody by the police.
