More than 100 participants turned out for the Stand for Women's Rights Rally Thursday evening. The march began at the WVU Mountainlair and ended at the Monongalia County Courthouse.
People from both Pro-Choice and the opposition, Pro-Life, expressed their views.
The rally was held by The West Virginia University Young Democrats and the WVU Center for Women's Concerns, along with the American Civil Liberties Union of West Virginia, Fairness West Virginia, the Human Rights Campaign, Planned Parenthood Health Systems, West Virginia Coalition Against Domestic Violence, and WV FREE.
The rally was to protest the recent efforts by West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey.
Rally attendees said he is trying to limit a woman's access to abortion care in the state.
Planned Parenthood had tables set up, and there were speakers explaining the Women's Rights, or Pro-Choice, view.
The West Virginians for Life group was also present at the rally. Members of the group gave information that opposes abortion. Including, the overlooked costs of abortions in women's healthcare, like subsequent claims for in-patient, mental health care, and a higher death rate.
Members also passed out information about how people who believe in Pro-Life opting out of funding abortion with the new Health Care Exchange.

West Virginians for Life expressed that they believe abortion is not healthcare
