Peru first lady meets French minister for women's rights

Peruvian First Lady Nadine Heredia met with French Minister for Women's Rights and Government Spokesperson Najat Vallaud-Belkacem in Paris, France, on Friday.
During the meeting, Heredia said that Peru has made ??great progress in reducing poverty and malnutrition, but there is still much to be done for Peruvian women living in rural areas of the country, in terms of access to training and job opportunities.
Heredia and Vallaud-Belkacem discussed ways to improve the reintegration of women into formal work after their maternity leave ends and they shared experiences on how to support women's production projects.
The Peruvian first lady, who is also FAO's Special Ambassador for the International Year of Quinoa, took the opportunity to highlight the nutritional value of this ancient grain and its role in the fight against malnutrition.
After the meeting, Heredia visited the Achille Peretti nursery school in the French suburb of Neuilly, where she met with Deputy Mayor Claire de Lesquen and with School Principal Sylvie Flis-Richard
