On
May 9th, 2012 President Barack Obama announced that, " I think same -
sex couples should be able to get married. " The Supreme Court is
agreeing with The President and is against DOMA does help LGBT couples
on immigration, they are still against some sex same marriage.
President Obama supports the right for same sex marriage.
Even
though in 1996 , congress did pass the Defense of Marriage Act that
does outlaw same - sex marriage on federal level, that means that those
states are legal in ones that oppose the 48% Proposition 8. About 130
million Americans support same sex marriage in 10 states. They are
California, Connecticut, IA, MA, MD, NY, VT and WA.
On
an interview with Morgan and Mitt Romney on the position of same sex
marriage issues, Morgan asked Romney a question. Does your faith mean
that your view homosexuality as a sin? Romney answers, " I separate
distinctly matters of personal faith from the leadership that one has in
a political sense. " which can be done , stated by MItt Romney.

Romney who is an American politician, a business man and is the 70th
Governor of Massachusetts from 2003 to 2007. He is also a Republican
Party's nominee for President of The United States in the 2012 election.

twenty - nine states have constitutional bans on gay marriage. Just
about more than half a dozen states are pending. Nine of which were
filed post - Windsor. The federal Defense of Marriage ACt ( 1996 ) , Ms.
Windsor who tried to claim a federal estate - law tax exemption but the
defense act banned the right against this act.
Just
about last week, Minnesota and Rhode Island became the 12th and 13th
states to allow same - sex marriage, as of August 4th , 2013. Including
other states like, New Jersey , Oregon, Hawaii and Illinois, where polls
significantly jumped high on lifting the restriction on same - sex
marriage. Ohio was recently in the news for supporting same sex
marriage.
Also
, Paul Ryan does in fact believe that marriage is between a man and a
woman ( My main point with that argument a same sex marriage couple have
been together for 48 years and a man and a woman's divorce rate is

voted on the Votes for Marriage Protection Amendment act that was
released from thePaul Ryan by the press release.
Through July 1st, and August 1
, of 2013, Delaware and Rhode Island have replaced the civil union that
will take effect on legalizing the same sex relationships of marriage.
Colorado, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, New Jersey, Rhode Island, New
Hampshire and Connecticut passed through the civil union.
When
it comes to domestic partnership, especially in California, the same
sex couples and opposite couples are eligible register at the age of 62.
Only six states adopted the civil unions in to law that are available
to both same - sex and opposite - sex spousal rights for unmarried
couples that also include the same - sex couples the right to marry.
Hawaii
is carrying the Hawaii Reciprocal Beneficiaries law that was created in
July 8, 1997. This law provides limits on the same sex couples. Such as
property rights, including joint tenancy. the right to visit your
partner in the hospital and make health care decisions for her or him
visa verse legally.
Columbia
passed and recognized the same sex marriage in to law at the end of
2009. These laws are all new and fresh out of the box. There is still
work to be done and to debate and negotiate.
