Emerging economies must do more in poverty battle, UNCTAD head
says Emerging
economies such as Brazil and China have a key role in helping reduce global
poverty, says Mukhisa Kituyi, secretary-general of the United Nations Conference
on Trade and Development. "From Brazil to China, while they have shown a
willingness to invest in economic infrastructure -- the construction of roads,
railways and ports -- that capacity should also extend to the construction of
