The World Bank Archives holds a vast collection, some of it stored in underground in a former limestone mine. An eArchives project aims to digitize information declassified under the Bank's 2010 Access to Information policy and make it freely available online. Bulgaria is aging and faces a steep decline in its working-age population, with one out of every three Bulgarians over the age of 65 by 2050 and only one out of two of working age. In this video, Bulgarian youth respond to the demographic challenges facing their country. Since the World Bank made all its research freely available, it has seen millions of downloads — but the impact goes beyond that. Like other institutions, the Bank is looking at how to measure the development impact of open access. Replay a webcast of the kickoff event for Open Access Week.
