Women’s rights have come a long way, but lately it seems like for every step forward, we take two steps back.
I’m grateful that someone like Paul Evans, candidate for state representative in House District 20, is running for office. Paul doesn’t hesitate to mention that he will champion pay equity for women and defend our reproductive rights.
This is the type of advocate that we, the women of Monmouth, Independence and Salem, need in the Legislature.
It’s no wonder that organizations such as NARAL Pro-Choice Oregon and Planned Parenthood Advocates of Oregon were so eager to endorse Paul – just as we should if we value women’s autonomy and fundamental rights.
