Press Release Deltawomen Ngo's Stand

For immediate release
May 5, 2012
Motivated by the desire to reach out and give back to the community, Elsie Ijorogu -Reed sought to empower the indigenous women of Delta State and support their needs and basic human rights, thus forming Delta Women. Delta Women is committed to teaching women to become socially, economically, and politically empowered. Delta Women defines empowerment as increasing the spiritual, political, social, and/or economic strength of women, thus developing confidence in one's own capacities.
Although our concerns are for the all-round and wholesome empowerment of women, we do not endorse any affiliated or coloured ideologies.
DeltaWomen is a non-partisan, non-aligned and non-profit organization. We do not belong to any political party. We do not endorse any political ideology that is specifically pursued by any particular political party. Our aims are entirely for social work and charitable endeavours, and are not in any way politically motivated. We expect that our stance be respected and that we are not dragged into any political fights or mudslinging.
Deltawomen will not hesitate to take stringent action in response to any flagrant disregard of the above values in any entity’s relations with us.
